| Cover: Natural Fire 10 was the first major exercise for U.S. Army Africa (USARAF), the Army service component command of the U.S. Africa Command, and it was the largest deployment of U.S. forces in Africa since World War II. Africa presents physical, administrative, and cultural challenges to deploying U.S. forces. As described in the article beginning on page 34 USARAF overcame these challenges by using the adaptive logistics network concept, which maximized the use of existing systems on the continent.
