Furlough Planning for ALU

<empty>

Based on the current fiscal uncertainty and the potential for a furlough of Dept of the Army civilian employees the Army Logistics University provides the following for student planning purposes:

ALU resident courses at the Ft Lee site will continue as scheduled within ATRRS.

  • Military or contract instructors will conduct classes on Friday (the designated furlough day for ALU civilian employees).
  • Civilian students attending class are expected to attend all classes during the scheduled period; those who are in a furlough status and take their furlough day during scheduled class periods may not receive a graduation certificate (depending on the number of furlough days during the scheduled class).
  • ALU recommends furlough schedules be adjusted with the above in mind or defer attendance to a later class if required.
  • ALU Mobile Training Team classes will be handled on a case-by-case basis depending on the desires of the hosting unit. ALU civilian instructors will only be able to instruct MTTs on a Monday - Thursday schedule.
  • ALU will not cancel MTTs at this time based solely on the potential for a civilian furlough.
  • Units who have specific questions may contact the respective ALU Course Director as listed on the ALU website at: http://www.alu.army.mil/ALU_COURSES/ALUCOURSES.htm.
