Purpose:
To train Officers, Warrant Officers, Enlisted Soldiers, DA Civilians, and contractors to develop training products based on the Army’s systematic approach to training development (TRADOC REG 350-70). The Graduate will be an adaptive and flexible member of a training development team, capable of performing duties as a Training Developer, Instructional Systems Specialist (GS-1750) and Training Specialist (GS-1712). This course will also help instructors navigate the Army’s instructional design process.
Scope:
Graduates will be able to prepare a Critical Task List (CTL), job task performance specifications, job aids for a Military Occupation Specialty (MOS), a Course Management Plan (CMP), and a Student Evaluation Plan for a course. Graduates will also be able to develop terminal and enabling objectives, select the appropriate method of instruction and media for a lesson, and evaluate learner performance. Course topics will cover how to conduct a job and task analysis, how to design a course and lesson, and how to validate an examination. Students will develop the skills and knowledge to input their analysis and lesson information into the Training Development Capability (TDC) software.
