Scope:
The Instructional Design Basic Course is an entry-level design course intended for U.S Army (Active/Reserve Component), Department of the Army (DA) civilians/DA contractors who design and/or develop instruction. In this course, participants will learn fundamental design practices that may be applied to any instructional situation. The course covers the following topics: lesson introductions, content and activities, summaries, assessments, and content types. This course was designed to give participants foundational design knowledge and provide them with some design frameworks that will aid in effectiveness and improve efficiency. The outcome of the course is for participants to redesign a lesson plan that incorporates the instructional design concepts, processes, and principles.
Special Information:
Minimum of 8 students: Maximum of 12.

Prerequisites:
The participant must be familiar with the Training Development Capability (TDC) Database, basic lesson plan outline structure, and MUST have at minimum of 6 months on the job experience.
Note: There are pre-work and post-work assignments associated with this course. If participants do not submit and successfully complete the post-work assignment he/she will not receive certificate credit for attending this course.
