Scope:
The DL (Blackboard) Contracting Officer Representative for Deploying Soldiers (ALMC-CLD) Course provides the student with an overall view of the contracting process, to include contract administration, statutory laws and regulations that govern the contracting process. Based on identified requirements, commanders will nominate personnel as COR candidates and require them to complete Army-approved pre-deployment training prior to deployment. All CORs must complete the Army Logistics University (ALU) COR course or equivalent course before the contracting officer may issue a letter appointment. This course will provide the Soldier with an overview of the acquisition process, teaming, ethics and integrity, authorities, contract classification, contract types, proper file documentation, performance assessment methods, remedies for poor performance, invoice requirements, contract modifications, and contract management. It focuses on the process of managing goods, services, and construction via contracting means in support of contingency operations in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and its Supplements. This course meets all training requirements necessary for performance as a COR and provides the prerequisite knowledge for COR appointment.

Prerequisites:
As part of planning for deployment the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) Course for Deploying Soldiers will provide the basic tools and knowledge to prepare officers and non-commissioned officers for contract surveillance positions in an operational environment. The COR is a representative of the requiring activity, nominated by the requiring activity, and designated by the Contracting Officer to assist in the technical monitoring and administration of the contract. Students should be Department of the Army (DA) military and civilian personnel requiring contracting skills to comply with the DoD standard for certification of CORs. DoD COR certification standard defines minimum COR competencies, experience, and training according to the nature and the complexity of the requirement and contract performance risk. All DA personnel who have been designated or anticipate being designated as a COR must complete the Army Logistics University (ALU) COR course or equivalent before the contracting officer may issue a letter appointment. CORs must be designated and trained prior to contract award.
The class is self paced and all students are allowed up to 5 weeks to complete the training. The DL course is equivalent to the resident 40 hour COR (ALMC-CL) course and all students will receive a certificate of training from ALU upon competition.
