Scope:

This course trains U.S. Army instructors (Active/Reserve Component/Department of the Army (DA) civilians/DA defense contractors) to deliver battle-focused training/education in The Army School System (TASS). 5K-SI5K/012-SQI8 consists of planning, preparing, and presenting Army training/education. The basic method for Army instructors is previewing and presenting the task, practicing the task, and performing the task to standard during evaluation. This method is enhanced during the course by applying a variety of presentation and practice methods and training techniques. The course also addresses how instructors motivate Soldiers and solve Soldier performance problems using positive reinforcement, on-the-spot corrections, and Soldier counseling. 5K-SI5K/012-SQI8 is designed for delivery in the traditional classroom setting or via video teletraining. Specific topics include: The Role of the Instructor in the Contemporary Operating Environment, Army Training and Education Development Overview, Prepare to Deliver Instruction, Methods for Evaluating Instruction, and Deliver Instruction.

Special Information:

Minimum of 15 Students: Maximum of 25.

   

Prerequisites:

Students must meet Army weight and physical fitness standards outlined in AR 600-9 and AR 350-41.

All Soldiers will be screened for compliance with these standards prior to being assigned to the course.

Soldiers who exceed established screening weight or who have failed to achieve minimum passing standards on their last Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) will not be allowed to attend the class.

Personnel not meeting these standards should not be selected for enrollment into the course.

Soldiers receiving temporary or permanent profiles after enrollment that prevents them from presenting a training session will be rescheduled for a future class. These Soldiers must bring a copy of their DA Form 3349, Physical Profile, with them to class.
