Scope:
To provide select personnel with the requisite training to perform as a S-DMG with scientific and technical expertise in all aspects of Battle Command Sustainment Support System (BCS3) operations to include various interfaces and inter-operations. At the end of the course the Soldier will be able to manage BCS3 to optimize logistics capabilities, and serve as a principal advisor to the Sustainment Commander for operability, training, maintaining and reporting of BCS3 readiness capabilities. The training spearheads positions in Support Operations Office (SPO) and Operation cells that directly interact with BCS3 Battalion level and above. These positions have been identified as requiring functional understanding of BCS3 applications and the focus of the training prepare the Soldier for such positions. Soldiers will also receive training on the Army Battle Command Systems (ABCS) architecture, interoperability, data transmission/exchange and the business systems generating and providing the source data; to include specific components of Command Post of the Future (CPOF).

Special Information:
a. ENVIRONMENTAL: AR 200-1 delineates TRADOC responsibilities to integrate environmental requirements across DOTMLPF and ensure all training procedures, training manuals, and training doctrine includes sound environmental practices and considerations. The Army's environmental vision is to be a national leader in environmental and natural resource stewardship for present and future generations as an integral part of all Army missions. This Program of Instruction meets this standard.
b. SAFETY: Accidents are an unacceptable impediment to Army missions, readiness, morale, and resources. Decision makers at every level will employ risk management approaches to effectively preclude unacceptable risk to the safety of personnel and property affiliated with this course.
c. OPERATIONAL ENVIRONMENT. The learning objectives in Army training must comply with current Joint, Army, and Branch doctrine regarding the Operational Environment and Opposing Force (OPFOR) scenarios. This Program of Instruction (POI) addresses this principle and incorporates current doctrine and lessons learned at the appropriate level, divesting of obsolescence, and implementing full spectrum operations in the OE in classrooms and training exercises.
d. MEDICAL SUPPORT TO TRAINING. Installation commanders and school commandants will assess and certify the adequacy of medical support to training at least annually. This responsibility is not delegable. Installation commanders and school commandants conducting high risk training shall rehearse their medical support (casualty response, evacuation, and treatment) plan at least annually, focused on responding to a training catastrophe. This Program of Instruction complies with the intent of the Army's Medical Support to Training policy.
Foreign Disclosure (FD3). The materials contained in this course have been reviewed by the course developers in coordination with the Fort Lee, Virginia foreign disclosure authority. This course is NOT releasable to students from foreign countries.

Prerequisites:
This course is open to all Active Army and Reserve Component enlisted personnel (E6-above) and officer personnel (W2-above) from the Transportation, Quartermaster, Ordnance, and Medical Services Corps. Prior to attending the resident course all Soldiers must have completed BCS3 New Equipment Training (NET) or BCS3 Systems Training through a BCTC or one year OJT utilizing BCS3 in an operational environment which must be verified by the first O-6 in the Soldier's chain of command. All personnel seeking entrance into the S-DMG Course must pass a Pre-Test with a score of at least 80%. The S-DMG Pre-Test will measure the Soldier's ability to achieve the mastery level of a Sustainment Digital Master Gunner. The S-DMG Pre-Test will examine previously covered NET Training material and/or skills that were developed through OJT. Upon completion of the course Soldiers must have one (1) year of service retainability.
