Provides students with the ability to effectively evaluate the merits of mass-based and distribution-based supply systems, performance and maintenance metrics, which is an ongoing process in DOD and the commercial industry. Critical to this topic is Performance Based Logistics, and how to implement it. For example, a study of logistics systems that shows industry parallels to military inventory management, contracting, maintenance, etc., but also shows the difficulties with PBL implementation (laws are still a hindrance for allowing equitable profit over the long-term, etc.)
