SUMMIT 2008
The Institute for Defense and Government Advancement will hold its
Military Logistics Summit at the Sheraton Premiere at Tysons Corner,
in Vienna, Virginia, 22 to 25 September. This fourth annual
event will bring logistics leaders and decisionsmakers together to
discuss strategies and initiatives for the logistics operational
readiness of today and tomorrow. The agenda this year focuses on
performance-based logistics, asset visibility, supply chain
management, and business process modernization.

NEW ARMY KNOWLEDGE
ONLINE SUSTAINMENT FORUM
Logisticians across the
Army can now meet online to discuss issues and exchange ideas at a new
Sustain Warfighting Forum (Sustain WfF) hosted by Army Knowledge
Online. The portal is a collaboration established by the Army Forces Command, Army Materiel Command, and Army Training and
Doctrine Command in an effort to get sustainment Soldiers and
logisticians in all Army components talking about their experiences,
exchanging knowledge, and working as a total Army sustainment team.
The portal is new, so Soldiers are invited to check out online tools,
look around, and provide feedback. The web address is

NONDESTRUCTIVE
TESTING GROUP CALLING FOR PAPERS FOR DECEMBER CONFERENCE
The 56th Defense Working
Group on Nondestructive Testing (DWGNDT) will be held 9 to 11 December
at the Handlery Hotel in San Diego, California. The DWGNDT is an
annual meeting of technical experts from all US Government activities
and military commands that are responsible for development or
application of nondestructive methods in research, engineering,
maintenance, and quality assurance.
The group is now looking
for technical and nondestructive testing problem papers that may be
helpful to members of the NDT community, particularly papers by
technicians in the field. Abstracts of papers can be emailed to
Michael.Kleinschek@dcma.mil. In order to be considered,
abstracts must be received no later than 12 September. The
format for technical papers can be found at
www.dwgndt.org.
This year's meeting is
hosted by the Naval Air Technical Data and Engineering Service
Command. the working group is restricted to US military,
Government civilians, and Government contractors. Identification
is required.
Personnel from
nongovernment organizations performing specific Government-funded
projects, sponsored by active US military or Government civilian
employees and approved by the steering committee, will be allowed to
attend the full Wednesday session of this year's conference, but they
must be US citizens. Photo identification is required for these
preregistered individuals.
